My Mother My mother was born in Bend,Oregon July 15, 1925 to Axel Helmer (Danielson) Lindstrom and Thyra Eugenia (Bylund) Lindstrom. Her parents were Swedish immigrants so Mom spoke both languages. She graduated from Bend High School and went on to work in the Portland ship yards as a welder. There she met her first husband, and my father, William Max Evans. After their divorce, she married Haley Ray Prichard and they had 6 children. Mom went through many traumatic events, but she always came out stronger than ever. She lost her father in 1965 and her mother in 1967. Than in 1985, her 24 year old son, Albert Ray Prichard died in a car wreck and in 2000, her 42 year old son, William David passed away from pneumonia. Haley died in 1995. Her death has left an empty spot in the hearts of her 5 remaining children, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. We go on with life as Mom would want us to, with our heads held high and a smile on our faces as we know that now she is with her loved ones and happy. |
